ILS working with Renewable Energy Research
ILS provides process management solutions for research and development of renewable
energy production based upon plant materials. The efficient processing of this material
makes the difference between profit and loss. Research and development must carefully
track the material, energy and time required to product the final product, usually an alcohol
such and ethanol or butanol. ILS provides a real-time, rule-based SCADA that can automate
the heuristics that often required to efficiently operate bio-reactors. In addition, ILS provides
recipe management, recipe execution and experimental data control and reporting for the
bio-reactor processes. Each of these components provides the basis to optimize and
improve the productivity and profitability of such processes.
ILS working with Vaccine R&D
Research and development for new and existing vaccines benefits greatly from a process
where managers, scientitst and technicians can extract the most useful data and working
material with time and equipment avaliable. ILS provides the process solutions for
managing equipment and data that can increase productivity, and provide flexibility for
future growth and changing conditions. ILS rule-based, real-time SCADA platform integrates
with almost any reactor, database, instrument, etc. This allows for greater value realized
from your exiting capital equipment while not limiting future purchases. ILS also provides
extract the greatest value from their experimental data while also providing the metrics to
measure productivity.

provided the real-time data analysis and supervisory control for high-throughput screening
(HTS) analytical laboratories. These laboratories benefit from the ILS experience integrating
analytical and business rule systems with HTS process. The integration allows for a higher
throughput and less rework for analytical separations. The supervisory systems allows for
the automation of analytical data-analysis rules to optimize method selection and business
rules to streamline operations. The system provides a supervisory rule by combining
multiple data sources and integrating multiple analytical systems. Scientist are able to
expand the system to meet their specific needs including integrating new rules to meet a
specific site goals and requirements.

ILS working with new Chemical Production Facility
ILS provides both the process and software experience and expertise for a new chemical
(ISA S88), supervisory control for reactor startup, shutdown, rate-change and grade
change, and online quality control. ILS is providing the complete life-cycle that requires the
process knowledge for functional requirement and design, software implementation and site
deployment, training and long-term support.
ILS is providing the background and support to develop and deploy real-time, rule-based
industry. These applications benefit refining units by providing operations the rules and
platform for monitoring units and the operation of equipment. This can include the ability to
realize preventive maintenance equipment monitoring. The system allows for extension of
basic limit alarms to a practise that allows operations to collectively integrate and share
their operational experience. The benefits can include a safer unit operation, a greater
consistencey of operation, less energy utilzation, and overall hiugher productivity rate of
on-spec product.
Gensym G2 Training
ILS provides Gensym G2 training tailored for specific audiences and specific backgrounds. ILS
provided training specific for plant-level process control engineers. This included putting G2
in the context with other plant systems such as a DCS, PLC, Matlab, data historian, and VB.
Care was taken to discuss communication concerns such as OPC, network architecture, etc.
In addition, emphasis was placed upon objected oriented programming and the
event-based, real-time, multi-threaded nature of G2. Applications and examples were
relevant for supervisory control at the plant-level. This included event-based process
monitoring & control, sequential control (ISA S88), and inventory or lot tracking.
